Dhaka Bank PLC. is pleased to announce the promotion of Mr. Mukarram Hossain Chowdhury to the position of Deputy Managing Director (DMD).

Mr. Chowdhury, previously serving as Senior Executive Vice President & Head of CRM Division of Dhaka Bank PLC., brings over 34 years of rich and diversified banking experience. He began his professional journey in 1992 with Arab Bangladesh Bank Limited and went on to serve in several reputed foreign and local banks, gaining extensive expertise in trade finance, credit operations, and branch management.

He joined Dhaka Bank PLC. on March 25, 2001, and has since held a series of critical leadership roles, including Head of Trade Finance, Head of RMG Division, Head of Credit, and Head of several major branches. As Head of the RMG Division, he has played a pivotal role in strengthening the Bank’s footprint in the readymade garments sector, significantly contributing to its sustained growth and resilience.

A visionary and results-oriented leader, Mr. Chowdhury is widely recognized for his deep understanding of financial services, particularly in the textile and garments sector. In his new role as DMD, he is expected to further strengthen Dhaka Bank’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and prudent banking practices.

Mr. Chowdhury completed Master’s degree from National University in Management and later obtained an MBA in Finance from Eastern University. He has strengthened his banking expertise through advanced training in general banking, foreign exchange and international trade from leading institutions. Furthermore, he has developed specialized knowledge in trade finance and global regulatory frameworks through programs by leading international institutions in Bangladesh, Hong Kong & Singapore.
