Dhaka Bank Launches ADB Financed Month-Long Entrepreneurship Development Program in Jashore

Dhaka Bank PLC, in partnership with Bangladesh Bank, has launched a month-long Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) in Jashore. The program is part of the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP), an initiative of the Ministry of Finance with support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The one-month training program, comprising 100 hours of training for 25 entrepreneur participants, commenced on 10 September 2026 at the training center of Shishu Niloy Foundation, Jashore. The program is designed to equip entrepreneurs, particularly those outside the formal banking system, with the knowledge and skills required to start new businesses or enhance their existing enterprises. The training also provides practical knowledge on business planning, marketing, financing and other essential aspects of running a business.

Mr. Md. Masum Billah, Additional Director, SME & Special Programs Department (SMESPD), Bangladesh Bank, inaugurated the training program. Mr. Mohammad Wasim, Joint Director, SMESPD, Bangladesh Bank, attended as Special Guest, while Mr. Mizanur Rahman Khan, President, Jashore Chamber of Commerce ‍and Industry, was present as the Guest of Honor. Mr. Md. Humayun Kabir, Manager, Dhaka Bank Jashore Branch and Coordinator of the training program, was also present at the event. The program was presided over by Mr. Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman Palash, EVP & Head of MSME & Emerging Business Division, Dhaka Bank PLC.

This collaboration reflects a shared vision to strengthen entrepreneurs and promote inclusive economic growth in Bangladesh.
