Dhaka Bank PLC Signs Agreement with BTCL to Facilitate Digital and Branch-Based Bill Payments

Dhaka Bank PLC has signed an agreement with Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) to facilitate convenient and seamless bill payment services for BTCL customers through Dhaka Bank’s extensive banking and digital channels.

The agreement signing ceremony was held on August 24, 2026, at BTCL Building. Mr. Osman Ershad Faiz, Managing Director of Dhaka Bank PLC, and Mr. Md. Aslam Hossain, Managing Director of BTCL, signed and exchanged the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

Under the agreement, Dhaka Bank PLC will provide BTCL customers with convenient facilities to pay their telephone bills through Dhaka Bank branches, booths, and digital banking channels. The payment information will be validated online in real time against BTCL’s e-payment server, enabling customers to enjoy a faster, more efficient, and reliable bill payment experience.

The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials from both organizations. From Dhaka Bank PLC, Mr. Sheikh Abdul Bakir, DMD & CCLO; Mr. Syed Ashraful Amin, SEVP & Manager, Karwan Bazar Branch; Mr. Mosleh Saad Mahmud, Head of Cash Management & Liability Marketing Unit; Mr. Md. Mahbubur Rahman, EVP & Head of Operations Division; and Mr. Mohammad Asif Hossain, EVP & Head of IT Division, were present.

Representing BTCL were Mr. Mirza Kamal Ahmed, DMD (Maintenance & Operation); Mr. Mohammad Mahmudul Haque, DMD (Corporate Affairs); Mr. MD Shafiqur Rahman, DMD (Finance); and Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain Masud, DMD (Planning & Development), along with other senior officials of both organizations.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Osman Ershad Faiz, Managing Director of Dhaka Bank PLC, emphasized Dhaka Bank’s commitment to expanding accessible and technology-driven financial services for customers. He noted that the partnership with BTCL will further strengthen convenient bill payment facilities by leveraging Dhaka Bank’s branch network and digital banking capabilities.

The agreement reflects the commitment of both organizations to enhancing customer convenience through technology and strengthening digital payment ecosystems in Bangladesh. Through this collaboration, BTCL customers will have greater flexibility in settling their telephone bills through Dhaka Bank’s banking and digital channels.
