Dhaka Bank Hosts a Celebration Night and Gala Dinner in honor of Smile Asia’s 8th International Friendship Medical Mission in Dhaka as its CSR Program.
Dhaka Bank PLC has hosted a Celebration Night and Gala Dinner on 22 July 2026 to commemorate the successful conclusion of Smile Asia’s 8th International Friendship Medical Mission in Dhaka as a part of its CSR Program where 100 children received free cleft lip surgeries. As the Proud CSR Partner of the initiative, Dhaka Bank has partnered with Smile Asia, SAJIDA Foundation, and Shorkari Kormochari Hospital to support the mission, reaffirming the Bank’s commitment to advancing quality healthcare and creating meaningful social impact through its corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Mr. Sardar Md. Shakhawat Husain, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The program featured addresses by Mr. Osman Ershad Faiz, Managing Director & CEO of Dhaka Bank PLC; Ms. Zahida Fizza Kabir, CEO of SAJIDA Foundation; Mr. Abhimanyu Talukdar, Secretary-General of Smile Asia; Mr. Mitchel Lee, Charge d’Affairs, High Commission of the Republic of Singapore in Dhaka and Mr. Md. A. Razzaque Sarkar, Director General of Government Employees Hospital. Among others, Deputy Managing Directors of Dhaka Bank Messrs. Md. Mostaque Ahmed, A M M Moyen Uddin, Akhlaqur Rahman, Sheikh Abdul Bakir, S.M. Abdullah Hil Kafi, Mukarram Hossain Chowdhury, senior government officials, representatives of Smile Asia, SAJIDA Foundation and Government Employees Hospital, healthcare professionals and corporate leaders were present during the closing ceremony.
Speaking about the occasion, Mr. Osman Ershad Faiz reaffirmed that partnerships such as this demonstrate the power of collaboration in improving access to specialized healthcare services and transforming lives through compassion and innovation. The Medical Mission was held from 18 to 22 July 2026 at Government Employees Hospital which brought together medical specialists and dedicated healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive medical evaluations for 120 children and life changing cleft surgeries for 70 children. This event has celebrated the collective efforts and invaluable contributions of the government institutions, international medical professionals, development partners, and volunteers who made the humanitarian mission a success.
