Sowing Hope, Securing Dreams: A New Partnership for the Farmers of Bangladesh
Dhaka Bank PLC, iPAGE Global Ltd. and Green Delta Insurance PLC. have signed a tri-party agreement on 17 August 2026 aimed at strengthening agricultural financing, promoting risk protection for farmers and creating a more sustainable and inclusive agricultural ecosystem in Bangladesh. The collaboration is expected to facilitate greater access to agricultural finance and insurance solutions for farmers, particularly smallholder farmers, while helping them better manage production and climate-related risks.
On behalf of Dhaka Bank PLC, the signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Osman Ershad Faiz, Managing Director; Mr. Md. Mostaque Ahmed, Deputy Managing Director & CEMO; and Mr. Md. Katebur Rahman, Executive Vice President & Head, Agriculture Banking Unit.
iPAGE Global Ltd. was represented by Mr. Mashrur H. Shurid, Managing Director, and Mr. Morshad Alam, Vice President, Finance.
From Green Delta Insurance PLC, Ms. Farzanah Chowdhury, Managing Director & CEO, attended the ceremony along with Mr. Syed Forhad Abbas Hussain, Head of Underwriting Management Department; Mr. Anupam Das, Head of Impact Business; Mr. Mohammad Atiqul Hasan, Executive Vice President; Ms. Farah Jabin Mouli, Vice President, Impact Business; and Mr. Tahamid Araf, Assistant Manager, Impact Business.
The partnership represents an important step towards integrating agricultural credit, technology-enabled farmer services and insurance protection under a coordinated framework. Through the collaboration, the parties intend to enhance farmers’ access to formal financial services while reducing their vulnerability to crop losses and other agricultural risks.
Speaking on the occasion, the representatives of the three organizations expressed their commitment to working together to build a more resilient, inclusive and sustainable agricultural financing ecosystem. The initiative is expected to contribute to the broader development of Bangladesh’s rural economy by supporting farmers with not only access to finance, but also appropriate risk-management solutions.
The three organizations expressed their optimism that this strategic partnership will create a meaningful impact on farmers’ livelihoods and contribute to the long-term development of Bangladesh’s agricultural sector.
