Dhaka Bank Launches QR-Based Digital Payment Service ‘Dhaka Pay’ in Northern Region

Dhaka Bank PLC has launched ‘Dhaka Pay,’ a QR-based cashless payment service, in the northern region of Bangladesh to make cashless transactions easier, faster and more secure. The service was formally launched on 10 September 2026 at a program held in Eque Heritage Resort, Nilphamari, where QR codes of ‘Dhaka Pay’ were distributed among business leaders from different districts of the northern region.

Through ‘Dhaka Pay’, customers can conveniently pay for products and services by scanning QR codes. Dhaka Bank customers will also be able to make digital transactions with customers of other banks, further facilitating seamless cashless payments.

The program was attended by Mr. Md. Mostaque Ahmed, Deputy Managing Director, Dhaka Bank PLC. as Chief Guest. Prominent business leaders of Norther Region attended the program along with other senior officials of Dhaka Bank Head Office, Rangpur, Dinajpur and Bogura branches.

With the launch of ‘Dhaka Pay’, Dhaka Bank aims to reduce reliance on cash in the daily transactions of businesses and customers and further expand the adoption of digital payments. The initiative is expected to provide businesses with greater opportunities to accept digital payments while enabling customers to make QR-based transactions in a simpler and faster manner.
